About me

My Background and Experience

I am a Veteran of the US Air Force. I began college as soon as I entered the service and attended higher education throughout my career. I ultimately decided on Occupational Therapy in the early 90’s and finished my degree requirements in 1997. I sat for the boards the following April in 1998 and am a Board Certified Occupational Therapist licensed to practice in Florida.

I have worked in all the settings a therapist works in. Private homes, rehab centers, hospitals, skilled nursing settings, inpatient facilities, outpatient facilities, Assisted Living facilities and schools. My favorite is the outpatient setting. I enjoy the orthopedic side to therapy and like to make getting better fun for my patients. I have a full service clinic to assist my patients with strengthening and mobility as their treatment progresses.

I enjoy helping a patient go from hopeless to I got this! I love teaching about the body and the Lymphatic System and showing patients there is hope with the correct treatment.

I attended the Academy of Lymphatic Studies (ACOLS) in 2011 and am a Certified Lymphedema Therapist as well. I see patients with a wide variety of post cancer issues as well as post surgical issues presenting with swelling from edema and/or Lymphedema; with and without wounds. This certification literally transformed my life as a therapist and has helped hundreds of patients become independent again.

My hope is that you will be inspired by my website to reach out to me knowing there is someone that understands Lymphedema, edema, the entire body and the brain and how everything works together in sync. I look forward to speaking with you!
