1. I've been going there for a month now and I can really see a difference in my legs. The swelling has gone down dramatically. Cheryl cares about your health, you can see that the minute you enter her clinic. I've got miles to go in my treatment and I'm glad I have her in my corner to help me through it. Thanks Cheryl!
2. Cheryl is incredible! She works well with patients of all ages, and makes painful therapy less hurtful. Every time I left her office, I left with a big smile on my face. She is very knowledgeable and will explain what is going on, in easy-to-understand terms. She is not afraid to try new things and she often creates custom splints/exercises. She is strict and will tell you to get back on track when you have been slacking on your exercises, but she gets extremely excited when you do keep up with them. I had a giant cell tumor in one my fingers, and I ended up with an extremely bent finger that was stuck in a 90 degree hook position. I had pretty much given up hope on having normal fingers again. But, after working with Cheryl for a few months, my finger is completely straight...and I have everything I need to make sure it stays that way! It is truly a miracle. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone. Prepare to laugh and smile your way to healing! Thank you so much!
One of the frequent questions I'm asked is what is the difference between edema and lymphedema and why do I need to see a Certified Lymphedema Therapist?
Well, there are many differences, but the main one is this - edema is a symptom of another problem. Lymphedema is it's own disease. Each presents differently and reacts differently to treatment. However, what I have found in my practice is that Edema responds well to Lymphedema treatment techniques. But, Lymphedema does not respond to edema treatment techniques. That is why you need to be seen by a Certified Lymphedema Therapist because we are trained to treat this disease and we know the difference.
