Welcome to Miracle Mile Therapy!

I am Cheryl Yarchuk, OTR/L, CLT specializing in Occupational and Lymphedema Therapy. My outpatient clinic is located in Hernando, Florida in sunny Citrus County. My clinic has a great view of the lake across the street with a full service clinic for all of your therapy needs. You can find the clinic at the intersection of FL 200 and Route 41. We are on the Route 41 side in Hernando Plaza.

My clinic offers…

We offer daily activities functional performance assessments to include Lymphedema evaluations, Lymphedema treatment and lymphatic massage. Lymphedema patients receive CDT (Complete Decongestive Therapy) for swelling due to Lymphedema and/or Edema. Patients also receive education about Lymphedema and/or Edema so you have a thorough understanding of each. In addition to an education session, Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD), Therapeutic Massage, Retrograde Massage, scar and fibrotic tissue release and compression to decongest the limb(s) are available. This also includes measuring, skin care, garment choices and decision making for choosing a garment. Patients are encouraged to schedule a followup appointment within 6 months of therapy ending.

As an Occupational Therapist, I have extensive experience treating stroke patients, hand, wrist and elbow injuries, total shoulder rehabilitation, cardiac rehabilitation, vertigo and general weakness and/or poor coordination affecting self care daily activities.

The Dolphin MPS and Therapeutic Ultrasound are used to enhance the therapeutic experience. The iTeracare Terahertz frequency wand (a self care modality that is growing in popularity) is used in conjunction with treatment, where requested. These modalities, when used in conjunction with therapeutic interventions, quickly relieve pain, improve circulation, increase lymphatic flow and ultimately improve patient outcomes.

Highly Skilled in Scar and Myofascial Release

Over time and through great study and experience, I have developed a deep understanding of skin and fascia throughout the body and how to release it to provide instant relief to the majority of my patients.

A scar is where skin has healed over the fascia (connective tissue of the body) which is bunched up usually presenting in a visual line or linear region from trauma or surgery. This bunching area causes pain to the touch and internal pain that can be near the site or transferred to a different area of the body that is not close to the site. This transference of pain or referral of pain is due to the fact that fascia does not like to stretch. Fascia is a fibrous system that has to be released back to where it belongs with gentle, controlled motion. If it is tight or bunched, it pulls on other areas of the body causing referred pain. Skin on the other hand, is quite the opposite. It loves to stretch and therefore is much easier to manipulate.

Since fascia is the glue that holds everything in place in the body, it is sometimes referred to as the third brain. It can help you or hurt you depending on its position under the skin or within its network of fascia highways. Through stress, repetitive physical activity, surgery, poor posture or trauma, the fascia can become disturbed, torn, bunched up or knotted up. Fascial disruption can be the root cause of many problems patients experience and is an important area to explore.

Those of us that have studied fascia know it is made up of multiple interconnected highways that run from the top of the body to the lower part of the body. Fascia disruption is one of the first things I address with my patients no matter what they have come in to see me for.

Click this link for the Human Garage online – an excellent fascia release program you can learn to do in your own home at your own pace which I highly recommend!

Highly Recommended

Cheryl is incredible…works well with patients of all ages and makes painful therapy less hurtful. Every time I left her office, I left with a big smile on my face. She is very knowledgeable and will explain what is going on in easy to understand terms. i had a giant cell tumor in one of my fingers…ended up with an extremely bent finger that was stuck in a 90 degree hook position…had pretty much given up hope….After working with Cheryl my finger is completely straight!… It is truly a miracle! I would recommend her to anyone and everyone. Prepare to laugh and smile your way to healing!
